In Progress
"Once our habits become automatic, we stop paying attention to them, even the bad ones."
In this chapter, author talks about how we need to get hold of our current habits in order to build new and better ones.
In this book you'll find many methods to identify your current habits. One such system that I have been using personally is tracking whether in long term this habit is an energy gaining or draining task.
Energy draining habits hide in plain sight
One such habit was scrolling reels before sleeping. Me and my partner used to watch them together. It made us share laughs after a hectic day. So we called it a quality time.
But actually it was feeding a lot of simulation leading to poor sleep. For long time I procrastinated changing it cause it was our quality time. But when I realised this problem, we replaced it with book reading before bed. Still the same purpose, just a better habit and better sleep.
